Growing up, the 4th of July meant one thing - noise. Lots and lots of noise. You see, my father liked that holiday almost as much as Christmas, and he'd save up money all year for fireworks. Then he and our neighbor would have a contest - unofficial, of course - to see who could set off the most fireworks and make the biggest noise!
What does that mean for you? Well...

My 4th of July usually consist of a lot of noise too, but mine isn't from fireworks. It's from over 200 people and most are kids. But there family gotta love them.

As a kid, my family would go see the fireworks on our boat. My daughter is sensitive to sound, so we watch the fireworks on tv

Ah, memories! Taking turns sitting on the ice cream freezer and turning the crank. Watermelons floating in tubs of icy water. Hot dogs and hamburgers. Mosquitoes and chiggers. Rotten cousin chasing me with a snake. Sparklers and roman candles. Sorry, kinda got lost in the past for a moment. Count me in please.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July! Thanks for the giveaway.

This year, the 4th has meant lots of rain and watching fireworks set off in New York on TV. One of the near by cities set their fireworks off 20 minutes early, and the storm hit 3 minutes after they finished.

I generally love the 4th of July. Last year though in my state (Kentucky) it was dry so most places cancelled the fireworks displays, this year, it has been raining for over 2 days! Besides, my 2 dogs and my 2 cats are all scared of loud noises so when my neighbors start setting off fireworks (which they do not only around the 4th of July but just randomly throughout the year), I have 4 fur babies trying to climb in my lap and be protected. Not fun :(

Been a rather wet year here, but there were many fireworks going off in the neighborhood on the 4th, don't have to leave to see some great fireworks.

The fourth means listening to the sounds of outside with my mother and wondering when it would stop. The fireworks would not stop for weeks.

Love the real easy giveaways. :)
ReplyDeleteThey canceled the local fireworks show this year. An almost 20 year tradition of our family going to this show(only two miles from my current home)on the beach, totally blown. :(
