Meet the Family Holiday Hop

For those of you who know me, you know my childhood wasn't pretty much hell. Consequently, we didn't have a lot of holiday traditions. Unless you count dad getting drunk. LOL O.o

Once I moved out, moved on, and got married, we had dual custody of our kids with my husband's ex. Establishing a routine and traditions was pretty much a losing battle - every year was different.

Things are still pretty up in the air when it comes to festivities around here, but there are *two* things that happen without fail -  the Christmas tree goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving, and my Husband puts on the final trimming - the star on top. The tree has been different over the years, and the ornaments keep multiplying by thousands, it seems. In the early years, there was tinsel...until we figured out Hubby's cat was eating it by the bucket loads.

But we've kept the tree part the same every year. :-)

For my prize today, I'm offering up a free pdf copy of my transgender romance "Family Matters."

To enter, just leave a comment below with your e-mail.

Good luck!!

****PLEASE BE AWARE: I write GLBTQ romance. GLBTQ stands for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer. This means my works feature same sex relationships AND same sex sexual acts. If winning that kind of a book isn't your cup of tea, kindly pass on to the next blog in the hop and leave the spot open for someone else. Thank you.****

  4. Like you we have always had to be ready to change things up at the last minute. And with our wedding anniversary on the 20th, and our daughter's birth on the 19th, we always have a crazy, wonderful time in December.

  5. Everyone in the family gets new PJs and open them on Christmas Eve. That way we all look decent if somewhat tired in the Christmas morning pictures. Another December tradition is going out at midnight to watch the meteor showers, no moon this year so it should be a good show.

  6. Sweet potato pie. Never slices, never served on plates. Stand in the kitchen talking, eating out of the pan!

  7. My husband and I get a new ornament every year. We haven't done any traditions but that in the last few years with everything always seeming to go wrong in December...though I do still obtain my Lego Christmas Village pieces even if I don't put them together every year anymore. My son is a year this Christmas and is actually home for Christmas instead of the hospital so I'm trying to get into the Christmas spirit.

  9. My family and I share our traditions, but it's harder now that the kids are all grown up and almost all out of the house.
