It's a new year! Time to do what we do best - make resolutions and not stick to them! LOL
I've never been one for making resolutions, but there is one thing I usually do, and that's watch the ball drop. I've missed it a few years - slept through it, to tell the truth - but most years, I watch it. I don't watch the whole event, mind you. I just turn the channel when it's close to time.
I remember New Years 2001, when everyone thought the world was gong to go buggy at the stroke of midnight, my parents got up and went to the front door, and stood there staring out into the night...waiting. They stood there for a good half our before they finally decided we'd averted Armageddon. LOL
Anyhow, for my prize, I'm offering up this fabulous kaleidoscope!
Here's a sneak peek of what it looks like inside -

As I sit here, my husband is working on what we want to do this year...take a real family vacation. We have been married for 15 years and haven't taken the kids anywhere. Many reasons why, but this year, we are changing that. Looking for a pet friendly cabin for a week's vacation. We will do it.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year.

going to try to lose weight this year
LOL, I remember 1999 New Years, everyone thought the computers were going to go wacky because the change of the year and possible mess up our whole electronic age - ha ha
ReplyDeleteHubby and I stayed at home this year, we had a nice evening with the fire place going, I had a glass of wine and about 8:30 hubby wanted to watch Batman Rising. It ended just in time before the New Year for our New Year Kiss, which by the way was interupted by our 3 big dogs who jumped up on the couch with us - LOL They were scared from the loud noises coming from the fireworks going off outside - LOL It was funny but was all good, we just laughed and realized how much love we have in our lives.
Happy New Year

The only Kaleidoscopes I've ever looked through are those you buy at a toy department. I'm always mesmerized by the different designs it makes and have always thought it would be so cool to paint of of them! This would make a great gift to myself! Love it!

A fun new year memory I have is of spending the 2000 celebration with a bunch of computer programmers and their friends and family. We each had special crystal glasses that had 2000 carved out as the stem. Our glasses toasted 30 seconds before midnight. Then the programmers all took to the keyboards and hoovered… waiting to see if Y2K was averted. Yay! It was. LOL.
