Back in the Saddle

::strolls in:: ::looks around:: ::wipes dust off::

Well, here we are again, almost a year later. I can honestly say I've been so busy with "real life" that I didn't even realize how much time had passed since my last post.

You'll be happy - hopefully? - to hear that I'm getting back into the writing arena. I've submitted my last three works - the Alpha/omega works - to a new publisher. Well, new to the stories, not new to me. I've submitted them out to MLR Press. I have a couple things with them currently - my m/m angel story "On God's Honor," and my m/m mpreg "Nothing to Forgive." They've always been nice to me there at MLR, and I'm hopeful that they'll want the A/o series. If not, I suppose there's always self publication.

I'm working on a brand new WIP. Now, when I say "new," what I really mean is "y'all have never seen this one" because I've been working on it for right about a year now, so it's hardly "new." But it's a monster. It started out as a relatively short story, like most of my works, and is now over 50K words. I have no idea how that happened. It's the story of Graham, who lives with his Aspie brother Quinn. Graham and Quinn have a very regimented, scheduled life in the tiny town of Duncan Creek, NY, and they like it that way. Enter Zim, the owner of Brew-Ha-Ha, the cafe on main street. Graham and Zim have been having eye sex for the past two years - just ask Quinn. Zim finally makes a move as a New Year's Resolution, and asks Graham out. What follows is a series of ups and downs, misunderstandings, breakdowns, and breakthroughs.

I'd say I'm 3/4 of the way done. I know the entire plot, and how the story is going to go - what scenes go where, etc. I want to have it done by January. I originally planned to have it to an editor by this past April, but that was before life decided to grab me by the ankle, string me up, and shake me until every last penny fell out of my pockets. Damn, Life - you're expensive!

Otherwise, I've started posting my little fan fiction drabbles to my AO3 account. If you haven't heard of AO3 and you love fan fiction, you need to check it out. Run, don't walk. My username is DCJuris. Go check it out! :-)
