What's my idea of a perfect hot autumn night? For  my prize, I'm offering up a free pdf copy of the winner's choice of any of my books, found here: www.dcjuris.com.

To enter, just leave at comment with your e-mail and the name of the book you'd like.

NEW RELEASE: Family Matters

Blurb:

Chains? Check. Lube? Check. Popsicles? Check!! Oscar and his transgender lover, Derek, are all set for a long weekend of some much needed--and more than a little bit kinky--alone time. When Derek gets an invitation to a get-together from his mother, Oscar is excited for the chance to finally meet Derek's elusive family, even if it'll cut their "festivities" short. But he soon learns the reasons why he hasn't met them yet - the majority of Derek's family, including his mother, are transphobic. Oscar and Derek attend the function anyway, but the stress sends Derek into an all-night migraine, and Oscar is forced to look for help from the last person he wants to: Derek's mom, Beverly. Can Oscar convince
Beverly that Derek is her child, regardless of gender? Or will Beverly's narrow-minded ways split her family apart for good?

Excerpt:

Oscar looked up from the newspaper and nearly spit his morning coffee all over himself. "What the fuck are you wearing?" Derek stood just outside their bedroom door. In a dress. A frilly lavender dress, pantyhose, and a pair of shiny black heels.
Derek hung his head. "I told you we were going to my family thing today."
"So?"
"My mother hates Derek. She wants me to be Amy." Derek's shoulders sagged. "So I'm Amy."
"Fuck that! Go change." Anger flared in Oscar so intensely that he was forced to put his mug down or else spill the contents with the shaking of his hand. Derek had said his family didn't approve, but this? Criminal. How dare anyone make Derek feel like he wasn't good enough! How dare anyone demand that he change, that he apologize for who he was!
"I can't." Just a whisper.
"Then we're not going. Or I'm not. I'm not going to watch you play dress up and parade around for their approval. That's fucking bullshit! There's nothing wrong with the way you are, and if those assholes can't see that then fuck them, wubby bear. Fuck every last one of them."
"My mother hates Derek," Derek repeated. He stood stiffly, an air of uncomfortable tension radiating from him.
"Your mother ought to be glad her kid's still alive," Oscar spat, thinking of his childhood friend Maria, who'd been unable to handle the pressures of her gender confusion, and had killed herself.
"I think she'd prefer dead Amy to live Derek."
Oscar's face flushed with the red heat of rage. He stood, shaking his head, and took Derek by the elbow. "Come change. Now."

Black Friday Blog Hop

My sister normally comes into town for Thanksgiving, and on Black Friday we go shopping. We don't get up early - we go a at normal hour. We walk around the entire mall, buy stupid stuff we don't need, and then head home.

I have to admit, the only time I've ever gotten up early and gone Black Friday shopping was a few years back, when my mother decided she wanted a discounted microwave. So we got up, myself, my sister, my mother, and my youngest son, and off we went. We got to the store, and the microwaves were all gone. Mom was understandably disappointed. The next thing I know, my son comes running up to us, carrying a microwave, yelling at us to "Get in line! Go! Go!"

Turns out, he spotted one sitting in someone's cart - a cart they'd walked away from, over half way down the aisle. He grabbed the microwave and ran. I didn't have the heart to tell him to go put it back, so we ended up with a microwave.

Okay, okay. Now to the thing you've all come for - the prize!

For my prize today, I'm offering up a $25 gift certificate to Ebay for one lucky winner!

Entering to win is easy!

2. Leave a comment below, including  your e-mail and follower name, if different.

Fall in Love Giveaway Hop

So the theme of this blog is to talk about books we've fallen in love with. There've been lots of books I've loved over the years, but only one book in particular lead me to my current writing career - "Discreet Young Gentleman" by MJ Pearson.

I went looking for gay romance on a whim. You see, I was working on a book at the time, and I realized rather suddenly that two of the male characters would be in a relationship with each other. I was having a helluva time finding an agent who would represent it.

At a loss, my Husband said, "Well, look up gay romance on Amazon. If it's out there, they'll have it."

I stumbled upon "DYG" and the rest is history.

For my prize today, I'm giving away a free pdf copy of one of my books - winner's choice.

To enter, just leave a comment below with your e-mail. That's it!

GOOD LUCK!!

The Next Big Thing

I was recently invited to participate in The Next Big Thing. You may have seen it hopping about on the net or twitter. It's a blog hop of sorts and here's how it works... I will post my post which consists of 10 questions about my current WIP and tag four more writers to keep The Next Big Thing going!

10 Questions:

What is the working title of your book? "Best Laid Plans"

Where did the idea come from for the book? It actually morphed out of a YA thing I was working on that kept becoming very... ::ahem:: Rated R.

What genre does your book fall under? Contemporary transgender romance.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie?

What is a one sentence synopsis of your book? Older man falls for sexy transgender hooker.

Will your book be self published or represented by an agency? Hopefully it'll wind up published by Breathless Press.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?  Several months.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? There's not a ton of transgender romance out there, so I'd have to compare it to my own... I guess?

Who or what inspired you to write this book? The idea originally came to me from a homeless youth prompt.

What else about your book might interest the reader? I think people are always interested in reading about "lifestyles" they don't understand, and this book has two major ones: transgender and prostitution. Also, there's hot sex. :-)

And now I shall tag.... Caitlin Ricci, Michele Montgomery, Jambrea Jo Jones, and... Autumn Heart.

There. :-)

Autumn's Harvest Blog Hop

Click the image for a list of participants

Autumn is my favorite time of year for a number of reasons. First, there's football. Second, it's the only time of the year when the weather outside isn't too much for me to handle. You see, I'm "allergic" to the heat -- I get migraines, visual disturbances, and I vomit. Yeah. Not fun. Conversely, in the winter, the cold is very painful to my arthritis. So for me, Autumn is my time!

I live in Upstate NY. If you've never seen Upstate NY in the autumn, you should. The colors are absolutely breathtaking. There's a lot to do, as well, from apple picking, to touring pumpkin patches, and of course - haunted houses. My husband and I got married in a haunted house. :-)

I love the flavors and scents of autumn, as well. Cinnamon. Apples. Cider. Pumpkins. There's a certain kind of magic in the crisp air. Like the world has a secret it can't wait to share with us.

::happy sigh:: I could go on and on, but here's what you really came for:  the prize!!

For my prize, I'm offering up a free pdf copy of any one of my books, found at www.dcjuris.com

To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment with your e-mail and the title of the book you'd like to win. I'll pick a winner at the end of the hop!

But wait, there's more!

There are also THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times!

1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet

2nd Grand Prize: A $50 Amazon or B&N Gift Card

3rd Grand Prize: A Swag Pack that contains 10+ paperbacks, ebooks, 50+ bookmarks, cover flats, magnets, pens, coffee cozies, and more!

Men of the Military Giveaway Hop

I don't have any books featuring military members, but many of my family members have served. My father was a veteran from the Vietnam era as was his brother and their uncle. My father ended up serving his time in Germany. Two of my brothers served. One of my sisters served in Desert Storm, and spent a good deal of the last ten years living abroad, stationed in Germany. She's travelled all over the world during her enlistment - she's been to Japan, Ireland, Scotland, Poland, England, France, and tons of other places I can't even remember.

Though I didn't serve myself (physical problems kept me out), I enrolled in Air Force JROTC in high school for two years and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I excelled at it - I frequently won Drill Downs and even served as Flight Leader and Element Leader.

My "prize" for today's hop isn't a book. I'll be making a $50 donation to Cell Phones for Soldiers in the winner's name.

To enter, just leave a comment with your name and e-mail address. That's it! Easy peasy!

Good luck!!

Delilah's Passion by Sarah Bella

Meet the Deans

Meet Aiden Dean:

“Shaggy, dark hair, lean muscular arms with a hint of tattoo ink peeking out from under one shirtsleeve and what looked to be a full sleeve on the other arm. He had a cleft chin and a sharp jaw sprinkled with stubble. His jeans were snug, and it was all Delilah could do to avoid looking at the bulge in the front of them.”

Aiden is the current owner of Dean’s, a family owned and operated ice cream shop in tiny Fawn Lake, Minnesota. He’s not looking for a relationship, but when one stumbles into Dean’s, even he can’t help but take a second look.

Meet Delilah Steele:

“Her short hair reflected the sunlight in a way that told Aiden she paid a fortune for her color. The body underneath her dark grey tank top and denim shorts told him that she did something more than sit on the couch and eat bonbons all day. Her big, dangly silver earrings and matching bracelets told him that she cared about her appearance. Her strappy wedge sandals told him that she knew how to have fun – if she could loosen her hold on her own reigns for just a minute.”

Delilah is Fawn Lake’s very own prodigal daughter. She’s coming home after a decade long absence. There’s only one way for this trip to end – happily-ever-after.

Title: Delilah’s Passion
Author:  Sarah Bella
Publisher: Sizzler Editions
Length:   193 pages
Sub-Genres:  contemporary, erotic

BLURB:
Delilah Steele was living the high life.  She had a high-powered job, a man she loved and nothing was holding her back.  When her world, and her trust, was irrevocably shattered by the man she loved, Delilah had no choice but to return to the town she grew up in – and couldn’t wait to leave.  There, she goes to work for Aiden Dean, a handsome heartbreaker who seems to have his eye on Delilah. When Delilah’s long-absent father arrives on the scene, she has to figure out how to cope with his presence and desire to be a part of her life.  Now Delilah has to learn how to live – and love – all over again.  Will her hard knocks past continue to haunt her, or will Aiden break through her tough exterior and show her that forever can be a good thing?

Fall in Love Blog Hop

So the purpose of this blog hop is to "talk about new books or authors we have fallen in love with this year."

Now you all know that I don't typically read m/m as a rule, and that I don't have much time for reading in general. What does that mean? Well, usually it means that if I *do* happen to pick up an m/m book, it's an established author whose work I am familiar with and know I can count on.

That being said...this year, two of my friends jumped into the industry. Tom Webb - writing as T.A. Webb, and Danny Johns, writing as Daniel B. Johns.

Tom's debut came in the form of a collaboration with established Author Laura Harner, called "Deep Blues Goodbye." Well, it's not his debut, actually - that was "Back Up" - and It's Raining Men Round Robin Story, but I must confess I haven't read that one yet.

I have read "Deep Blues Goodbye," and loved it. You can read my review of it here.

I'm anxiously (read: fanboyishly) awaiting the release of his first solo work, "Second Chances."

Here's the blurb: Mark Jennings is at a crossroads. His finance job in the Atlanta nonprofit scene stresses him out, his mother is dying, and his relationship with Brian Jacobs has crashed and burned. He needs a distraction, some way to relax, and a massage seems like just the thing. He never expected his massage therapist, Antonio Roberto, to become his best friend.

Despite their differences—Antonio is a divorced single father—the two men forge a firm friendship that weathers Mark’s reconciliation with Brian and Antonio’s questionable taste in women. Over the years, Antonio remains constant in his support, though others in Mark’s life come and go through a revolving door.

When a young boy runs away from the group home where he works, Mark finds another door opening. Through it all he holds on to the things his loved ones taught him—about family, about friends and lovers, about life and death. Most importantly, he realizes that sometimes the greatest gift of all is a second chance.

Now, Danny's story, "Mirrors in the Attic", will be featured in the "Winter Heat Anthology" from It's Raining Men, but it's not out until 11/19. (***UPDATE:  When I scheduled this post, 11/19 was the date I'd been given. But happily there's a NEW RELEASE DATE OF 11/2!!***) I encourage you to check it out. (I'll add links at some point if it goes live or pre-order anywhere!)

Here's the blurb: My name is Stanley Nelson and I am a psychic working with the Boston Police. My notoriety comes from a voice in my head. When evil threatens my life I run to free the only person who can help me, Luchien. Along the way, I meet Deke Bridges, a Nantucket handyman who harbors a secret that ties us together. Will good win out over evil? Can love survive no matter what the cost?

So there you have it - two fabulous new voices in the m/m industry!

For my prize today, I'm offering up a $25 Amazon Gift Certificate. You can use it to buy these new titles, or any you like!

To enter, just leave a comment below with your e-mail. (Please, please, please be sure to include your e-mail - that's the way you'll get your prize!)

GOOD LUCK
